Passengers will now be able to travel from Airdrie and Coatbridge straight to the centre of Edinburgh
An intercity coach route serving Monklands is now being extended to take passengers directly into Edinburgh city centre for the first time.
Its operator, Scottish Citylink, says it has “proved really popular” since the route was launched a year ago and that the “enhancements mean there will be even more options for passengers travelling from the west of Scotland to Edinburgh”.Get all the news from your area – as well as features, entertainment, sport and the latest on Lanarkshire’s recovery from the coronavirus pandemic – straight to your fingertips, 24/7.
It then heads through West Lothian to Edinburgh airport and now its city centre, while next week’s timetable updates will also see additional early-morning and late-evening services between Monklands and Edinburgh, plus more peak-time services to and from Glasgow.
