This search for the Loch Ness monster is being called the largest search for the mythical lake creature since the 1970s. Are you the person to join?
Jim Dain, of Pittsfield, Ill. snagged a monster 140-pound, 10-ounce paddlefish on March 18 at the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri.
The visitor attraction said this week that modern technology such as drones that produces thermal images of the lake will "search the waters in a way that has never been done before." The Loch Ness Centre is located at the old Drumnadrochit Hotel, where in 1933 manager Aldie Mackay reported spotting a "water beast" in the loch, the largest body of freshwater by volume in the United Kingdom and one of its deepest.
Volunteers will be asked to keep an eye out for any breaks or other movements in the water, with guidance from experts on what to look out for and how to record findings.
