Rep. Zooey Zephyr, who was deliberately misgendered by a conservative group of lawmakers, said she will not apologize for saying the lawmakers would have “blood on their hands' if they supported a bill to ban gender-affirming medical care for trans youth.
The standoff is expected to continue next week, with neither side ready to back down.has indicated he will sign it.
“It sounds like currently the speaker has made his intent clear,” Zephyr said after Friday's floor session. Zephyr said she stands by what she said about the consequences of banning essential medical care for transgender youth.
