The latest survey comes as diplomatic tension between the Trump administration and Beijing continues to rise.
More than three-quarters of Americans are holding China responsible for the global spread of the novel coronavirus, according to a new survey.
Another 73% said they now have an unfavorable view of the country — a figure that rose by 26 percentage points in the last two years, according to the New York Post. The coronavirus originated in a wet market in the Chinese city of Wuhan earlier this year and has since spread to 213 countries and territories around the world, according to Worldometers.
Last month, Pompeo also called reports that China was using forced abortion and sterilization against Uighur Muslims in the country"shocking" and"disturbing," Reuters reported.
