Land that used to be between $5,000 to $7,000 is now upwards of $12,000. These high prices also present a serious obstacle for younger generations to get into farming. When they see the high prices, the stress, the difficulty of finding land and the “reward” at the end of the year, it’s challenging for them to want to stay on the farm.
