It affects around 1 in every 5 babies according to the NHS
A Northampton mum is raising money to treat her baby overcome a condition which has caused his head to become mis-shapen. Natasha Tipping, 43, hopes to fit her son Beau with a £2,500 helmet to help improve the shape of his skull.
"I mentioned it to her a couple of weeks ago and she said it was plagiocephaly because the skull is growing one way. She said 'oh, he will just outgrow it by the age of two' but I obviously did a lot of research into it and in fact, children don't outgrow it. Natasha says the deformity will be noticeable later on in Beau's life and she has a friend whose son is now 14 with the same condition. She said: "He's actually put up with a lot of bullying. There could be self-esteem, mental health issues and there are also children that have behavioural problems.
