Howard Gayle said playing for Liverpool was 'a dream most people don't get to live'
A man who made history as the first Black player to sign for Liverpool FC has been honoured with a new mural. Howard Gayle was born in Toxteth , the youngest of four siblings. As a youngster, he was a huge Reds fan, follow the team 'all over the country”, where he made “really great memories watching them win trophies and being successful”. The young football fanatic never dreamed that one day he too would be playing for the team he loved.

Commissioned by Liverpool charity Mandela8 the mural is a partnership with social housing landlord, Riverside, which allowed the mural to be painted on one of its properties.
