Monroe County sheriff’s office says Allen John Hoe attempted to smuggle cellphones, lighters and other contraband into the Monroe County Detention Facility via the lobby restroom, but he was recognized by the jail staff and they thwarted his plan.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says Hoe is back in custody after he was caught trying to smuggle cellphones, lighters and other contraband into the Monroe County Detention Facility. The sheriff’s office says Hoe attempted to smuggle the items into the prison via the lobby restroom, but he was recognized by the jail staff and they thwarted his plan before the items made it into the inmate housing area.
Hoe is now charged with multiple counts of promoting prison contraband and his bond for the murder charge has been revoked.
