Paul Gerrard was on the run for several weeks after absconding from HMP Kirkham
A murderer who escaped from an open prison in Lancashire has been detained more than 200 miles away in Scotland.
LancsLive previously reported how in December last year, the now-36-year-old escaped from HMP Kirkham. Today , police confirmed that he has been detained again.Officers say that Gerrard was located the fugitive in Irvine on Tuesday . Gerrard was convicted alongside Gerrard Harper after they lured Mr Argent to a flat in Castlefields in July 2008 and beat him unconscious.
