A new turn of events has changed who’s most tragic.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary My Hero Academia has no shortage of tragic characters, both hero and villain alike. A recent turn of events, however, is putting a new character at the top of the list of most tragic figures: Nana Shimura.

This led ultimately to the creation of Tomura Shigaraki, the deadly villain who now stands against Deku and One for All. Nana Shimura knew, in some sense, what had happened after she left, but seeing it occur is an entirely different story. She's now heartbreakingly aware of just what the results of her sacrifice were. Worse still, Nana giving up her family to keep them safe from All for One ultimately didn't even work out, and she wasn't able to defeat him, even at the cost of her own life.
