The final exams are critical to Bakugo’s character.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The fifth major story arc in My Hero Academia is the Final Exams arc, which admittedly has lower stakes than the Hero Killer and USJ arcs which preceded it.

The Final Exam arc covers chapters 60-69 of the manga and episodes 34-38 of the anime. In the manga, the tests happen concurrently, while in the anime, they happen consecutively. The Final Exams Put the Spotlight on Every Student in Class 1-A Close Since the exam is structured into 2 versus 1 matches, and all matches are shown to some extent, every student gets their own opportunity to show what they're made of. Of course, some students do better than others; five students end up failing the exam, although even in some of those cases, it had more to do with their opponent's strengths. Particular highlights include Yaoyorozu and Todoroki vs.

The two are eventually able to reach a compromise and come up with a clever strategy involving Midoriya using Bakugo's gauntlets--at least until the gauntlets are destroyed. Midoriya ends up landing an impressive Smash on All Might, leaving the hero stunned and coughing up blood. That provides enough of an opening for Midoriya to escape with Bakugo's unconscious body, securing both of them a passing grade.
