November 10, 2022 5:15 pmWe’ve all been there. Standing in a clothing store dressing room trying on jeans in the same size we usually buy, in the same style we always go for, but this time they get stuck on our calves and our knees are left peering over the top.
Ruby Watson, a 20-year-old student from Newcastle, can get fixated on numbers and finds it discouraging walking into a high street store and not fitting her usual size. “I’ve found recently that I havemuch more than when I was younger,” she says. “Clothing brands have always had inconsistent sizing in comparison to one another but recently I have found that brands are not even consistent across their different items.
