A New Jersey woman was seriously burned by hot tea purchased from a Dunkin' in East Orange, according to a suit filed last month in Essex County.
An Essex County couple are the latest New Jersey residents to file a lawsuit against the owners of a Dunkin’ in the Garden State, claiming the wife was seriously burned by the store’s hot tea.
Workers allegedly failed to properly secure the lid to one of the cups and also did not “adequately secure the cup to the cup-carrier, causing the hot tea to spill onto plaintiff’s body, resulting in severe burns,” the suit says.
