Summertime heat is in full swing for the final week of June. A Heat Advisory remains in effect for North Texas through 8 p.m. Monday, and will likely be extended all of the work week.
A building ridge of high pressure will allow temperatures to soar the next several days. The first 100 of the year is expected at DFW Airport late Sunday afternoon, with heat index values climbing to 105-110. The sizzling hot pattern continues all next week with a stretch of daily highs above 100 degrees, perhaps as high as 107 by mid week.
