Amid the dual strike of WGA and SAG-AFTRA, NBC reshuffles its fall TV schedule and delays Night Court, Law & Order, One Chicago, and more.

NBC reshuffles its fall TV calendar by delaying Night Court, Law & Order, One Chicago, and more amid writers' and actors' strikes for fair wages. Months after the Writers Guild of America went on strike, SAG-AFTRA followed suit after both groups failed to reach a new deal, causing industry-wide work stoppage in Hollywood. Initially, the NBC network previously laid out its fall 2023 TV timetable a couple of weeks after the 2023 WGA strike started, only for that to change again.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Per TV Line, NBC is pushing its whole fall TV calendar to mid-season, delaying the return of highly-rated scripted shows such as Law & Order: SVU, all three One Chicago shows, and its new comedy hit, Night Court. Aside from Law & Order: Organized Crime moving to mid-season, NBC kept all of its primetime shows in their usual slots, indicating their optimism the issue would be resolved before production for the projects start.

When The WGA & SAG Strikes Might End At this point, it's difficult to say when the WGA & SAG-AFTRA strikes will end. Countless reports have come out, supposedly informing the public of what has happened during these closed-door meetings, but the truth is that specifics about what really goes down on them are unknown. What's clear, however, is that both the WGA and SAG-AFTRA are fighting for fair wages in the age of streaming.

It's uncertain if other major broadcasting networks, such as ABC and CBS, will follow NBC's suit. For the most part, they have also maintained their usual fall TV schedules. Given the delay, however, it's becoming increasingly clear that the soonest the matter gets resolved, the better for everyone involved.
