It should be noted that last year’s NFL season opener was up against both NBA and NFL playoffs, including the big draw LA Lakers in the former.Once you add in the game streaming on Peacock, plus NBC Sports Digital, and NFL Digital platforms, last night’s Tampa Bay vs. Dallas game snared a Total Audience Delivery of 26 million. Or put another way, that’s the best a NFL season opener has done since 2015, which went on to be the most watched NFL season ever.
Now, last night’s results do not include the vital out of home viewing. When those results come out early next week, expect to see the number head upward even more. Until then, see you on the weekend for the Sunday Night Football season launch when the LA Rams take on the Chicago Bears.
