A big San Jose development of homes, retail and a senior care center might replace a commercial complex now occupied by a drug store and clothing store.
SAN JOSE — A big mixed-use development of homes, retail and a senior care center might replace a San Jose commercial site now occupied by a drug store and clothing store, plans being pitched at City Hall show.
A senior care center and ground-floor retail are also envisioned for the site, which has addresses of 1097 Leigh Ave. and 1792 Southwest Expressway. “As a local company, we are excited by the opportunity to help San Jose meet its housing and jobs goals all in one project,” said Elaine Breeze, senior vice president of development with SummerHill Apartment Communities.
The property slated for development at present includes a CVS Pharmacy drug store and a dd’s Discounts clothing store, along with surface parking adjacent to the retail buildings. The development would replace these parcels.
