The former Parkhead boss knows fans are desperate to see the Hops draw level on titles won
Neil Lennon has urged Celtic to turn off the Rangers title bragging tap by matching their rivals' haul of 55.
The Ibrox club secured their last under Steven Gerrard back in 2021, going unbeaten for the season as Celtic's dream of a record breaking 10-In-A-Row disintegrated under lennon;s stewardship. But the Hoops have won the last three on the bounce under Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers, and can join the Gers on 55 by finishing top of the pile this season.
And Lennon believes that will finally end the crowing over Scottish crowns emanating from the blue half of Glasgow. And with the kicker of Celtic's historic 1967 European Cup win, the former Parkhead boss is struggling to see what the Light Blues would then have over their rivals when it comes to city bragging rights. “Celtic winning their 55th title will be massive for the supporters," Lennon told OLBG.com.
"They can turn that tap off after hearing it from Rangers fans for a considerable time. Since the turn of the millennium, Celtic have won 18 titles from 24 seasons and they are the juggernaut in Scotland now. “The fans will love it and they’re coming out in their thousands every week. Fans argue over who is the biggest club, but Celtic also have 1967 in their corner, it’ll take quite something for Rangers to match that.”
