Hush, a slasher film created by horror filmmaker Mike Flanagan, has left Netflix, with the director teasing new plans for the Kate Siegel-led film.
Horror filmmaker Mike Flanagan has confirmed that his slasher film Hush left Netflix following the streaming service's acquisition license expiring, teasing new plans for the film now that it's no longer on Netflix. The 2016 horror film stars Flanagan's wife, Kate Siegel, as a deaf-mute horror author whose home is broken into by a masked murderer. The film was released on Netflix to critical acclaim, with many critics praising the suspenseful elements of the movie.

His tweets reveal that he wants to pursue releasing the film in physical form sometime in the future. Now that Netflix no longer has distribution rights to the movie, he can do so without having to consult them.
Mike Flanagan's Split From Netflix Explained Netflix's distribution license expiring for Hush follows Flanagan's exit from Netflix in December 2022 after he signed a deal with Amazon Studios. The deal came just after the cancelation of The Midnight Club, a series Flanagan had helped adapt from a Christopher Pike novel of the same name.
Currently, Flanagan is adapting The Dark Tower, Stephen King's dark fantasy novel series, into a 5-season TV show with 2 feature films planned as well. Flanagan also created The Fall of the House of Usher, a horror miniseries adaption of Edgar Allen Poe's works and the final project of Flanagan's to be released on Netflix later this year.
