New Braunfels crafts strategy to attract more high-skilled jobs

That’s common among communities growing as quickly as New Braunfels, said Matt Tarleton, principal at Matt Tarleton LLC and an adviser hired by the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce to develop an economic development strategy for the city. “Hundreds of business-operations specialists, engineers and other workers leave New Braunfels every day for work in San Antonio and Austin,” Tarleton said. “This strategy is predicated on attracting not just industries, but specific occupations” such as information technology, manufacturing and other high-wage fields.
“We have very good relationships with them, and that’s also where we source a lot of our talent from,” Martin said.
