The 15–hour journey from Brussels will coincide with school holidays, ski trips and the Venice carnival
Passengers prepare to board the Good Night Train service, operated by European Sleeper, at Brussels Midi railway station Rail travellers could join a 15-hour sleeper journey from Brussels all the way to Venice next February with European Sleeper announcing its newest route this week.
New players in the rail market face many hurdles, as detailed by European Sleeper co-founder Elmer Van Buuren when he spoke at the World Passenger Festival last autumn.He said: “The barriers to market entry are formidable. There are regulatory constraints, difficulties in securing timetable paths and a shortage of rolling stock.”
UK travellers will be able to join the new European Sleeper route via a Eurostar train to Brussels, for which tickets start from £39 one way. Ticket prices for The Good Night Winter Train will be revealed shortly.
