Cassiobury Park new café opened earlier this month to much fanfare, but is it worth a visit?The new eatery is run by EMA Catering, which also operates other park cafes and festival food stands. Cedar offers a range of hot and cold food made fresh on site, from English breakfasts to full meals like spaghetti bolognese .You can also choose from various cakes and sweet treats ordered from Lizzie’s Cakes and Bakes, which supplies cafes across London and the south east.
I ordered the falafel, sun dried tomatoes and hummus hot panini and a lemon meringue crush flapjack, and took a seat on the new benches outside. I was impressed when the meal arrived as it was a decent portion for just a café lunch and came with a side salad.The sandwich was almost overflowing with crispy falafel, roasted peppers and tomatoes, with hummus on top. I felt the sharp flavours of the vegetables were well balanced by the rich herbs and spices of the falafel as well as the smooth chickpea sprea
