Rep. Fred Keller says he plans to move to Northumberland County because his home in Snyder County is not in the 9th District.
The state Supreme Court’s new map of congressional districts has forced two Republicans incumbents to compete.
That means Keller will be taking on Rep. Dan Meuser of Luzerne County in the primary. Keller was not available Wednesday evening to explain his decision to run in the 9th District. He plans to move into that county that is part of the current 12th District he represents, spokesperson Jon Anzur said. They include Union, Sullivan, Bradford, Wyoming, Susquehanna and part of Lycoming that includes most of Williamsport.
