It sounds wonderful
A small park will be created in a Nottinghamshire town and could be named after Queen Elizabeth II in tribute. An area of land adjacent to Newark Library is owned by the Newark and Sherwood District Council, and a decision has recently been made to create a small park, known as a pocket park, for the town centre.
The pocket park has a proposed name of Queen Elizabeth II Pocket Park to honour her late majesty. The proposed layout for the park includes gabion seats to allow for informal meetings and demonstration of green principles, a tree seat at the Sycamore tree, and a shallow rainwater garden utilising rainwater.
, and encourage opportunities for people to engage with green open spaces. The council also hopes the pocket park would provide more opportunities for schools and young people in the area, whilst also improving the available access to green spaces for the disabled. It is also hoped there will be planned activities at the park, and so the creation of a space for an outreach ranger service from Sconce and Devon park was also proposed, to enable talks, green schools and greening activities at the site.
