A new study claims that beautiful auroras aren't just pretty sights, they also make holes in our planet's ozone layer
The ozone layer is one of the most important parts of our planet’s atmosphere. As a result, keeping the ozone intact and with as few holes as possible has been a goal of the science community for many years now. Despite some healing of one of the more well-known ozone holes, auroras may have just opened yet another ozone hole, according to a new study.. According to that study, a certain type of aurora can make holes in the ozone layer.
