The training program is part of an overall strategy that plans to attract more international students to Saskatchewan
Announced Monday, the province said the program is a key component of the International Education Strategy — a plan that aims to enhance Saskatchewan’s profile in attracting students overseas.
The ministry partnered with the Canadian Bureau for International Education to bring the training to Saskatchewan’s international practitioners. The cost is about $150,000. “I think this is a critical important piece to highlight for Saskatchewan. Students choose Canada because of high quality education, but they also choose Canada because it’s safe and welcoming and because they can access those supports,” said Larissa Bezo, the CBIE president and CEO.Article content
“I think this is amazing,” said Castellanos who will soon be the associate vice-president international at the University of Regina. She pointed to the war in Ukraine, where it’s possible the province could see students from that country.
