This Sunday will mark another milestone for Northern Ireland's new £340million public transport hub as the first trains roll out from its eight railway platforms.
It comes five weeks after the doors of Grand Central Station opened for bus services only . An hourly Enterprise service between Belfast and Dublin is planned to start on Tuesday, October 29th. But while the opening for trains is an important next step, there is still much to do with works on public realm and Saltwater Square due to complete in 2025. This major infrastructure regeneration project will be around for future generations to come and heralds a new era in public transport, supporting economic growth, social wellbeing and addressing climate change.
It is asking all road users - motorists, cyclists, wheelers and pedestrians - to be vigilant and allow extra time for their journey if travelling through the city.
“Public Realm work is ongoing around the new station, so we are also reminding passengers to allow some extra time for car parking or using the designated drop off and pick up points at Grosvenor Road-Value Car Parks and St Andrews Square North to access the station.
