Pub chain JD Wetherspoon wishes to convert the floors above the pub into hotel rooms
The pub chain wishes to convert the vacant upper floors of its existing Sir Henry Segrave pub on Lord Street in Southport into 30 hotel rooms. Plans submitted to Sefton Council detail Wetherspoon's intention to make some alterations to the ground floor pub, including a hotel reception, an extended kitchen area and refurbishments.
The planning statement says: "The proposed works include the internal alterations to The Sir Henry Segrave, to create hotel rooms on levels one, two and three, with alterations to the ground floor bar to suit.
