New York's Rockaway Beach will reopen Wednesday, two days after a 65-year-old swimmer was sent to the hospital in critical condition from a shark attack.
Rockaway Beach will reopen Wednesday for the first time since Monday night's unprecedented shark attack – the first recorded in"Drone and harbor unit surveillance this morning did not observe any shark sightings, and Rockaway Beach has reopened for swimming as of 10 a.m," the New York City Parks Department announced on X."NYC Parks, NYPD, and FDNY will continue land, drone, and boat surveillance on Rockaway Beach throughout the day and into the evening.
