Mayor Bill de Blasio attributed the recent uptick in cases in the Sunset Park neighborhood to households breaking social distancing rules
A recent uptick in coronavirus cases in a Brooklyn neighborhood appears to be the result of individual households not complying with social distancing rather than a widespread cluster of infections, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said Monday.
Health officials have tested more than 5,200 people and made 77,000 robocalls since late July to residents in the south Brooklyn neighborhood of Sunset Park, which they found had an infection rate several times that of the citywide average.
