Itself a spinoff, with its origins going back to the 1990s drama JAG, the NCIS franchise has shown that it's very capable of launching successful spinoffs set in different locations. There's been NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, and NCIS: Hawaiʻi, with another international offshoot soon joining the roster.
Deadline confirms that NCIS: Sydney will move its airdate to Tuesday at 8 PM. In doing so, it will restore the NCIS tradition of airing on Tuesdays. CBS had moved NCIS to Monday in 2021, in order to make room for the FBI shows. But given the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, NCIS: Sydney will have that timeslot all to itself. It's reported that the spinoff is being moved away from Monday to avoid clashing with ABC's Monday Night Football.

NCIS: Sydney features an ensemble cast. Todd Lasance stars as Sergeant Jim “JD” Dempsey. He appears along with Sean Sagar as NCIS Special Agent DeShawn Jackson, Olivia Swann as NCIS Special Agent Michelle Mackey, Tuuli Narkle as AFP Liaison Officer Constable Evie Cooper, Mavournee Hazel as AFP Forensic Scientist Bluebird ‘Blue’ Gleeson, and William McInnes as AFP Forensic Pathologist Dr. Roy Penrose.
