Star Wars’ recent movie shakeups reveal the franchise’s new hope for the future when it comes to the big screen ahead of a confirmed 2025 film slot.
A new Star Wars movie update regarding the saga’s first theatrical release since Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker reveals Disney’s only hope for the franchise. Both Patty Jenkins’ Rogue Squadron and Kevin Feige’s Star Wars movie have been shelved after years without any substantial updates on either of them. However, Lucasfilm is reportedly close to deciding which Star Wars movie will release next.

After an overall disappointing ending to the Star Wars sequel trilogy and so much expectation for what Star Wars can offer next, Lucasfilm’s 2025 movie slot has gained even more importance. As such, going for a Star Wars spinoff or something distant from Jedi and Sith like Rogue Squadron would be risky.
