Cooler temperatures are expected to return
After last weekend's unseasonably warm early October weather, temperatures could drop below freezing over the coming days as a cold snap moves in.
The Met Office says potential lows of -3C in parts of Northern Ireland could lead to air frosts over the coming days. The forecaster added that "all parts of the UK will turn much cooler by the weekend". It's a similar picture for Sunday before a dry but cold afternoon with patchy low cloud and sunny spells. It will remain cold but settled on Monday with variable low cloud and sunny spells.Today: Cloud and patchy rain soon clearing, then a bright day with sunny spells and scattered showers. Northwesterly winds picking up later becoming strong towards the north and east coast. Maximum temperature 13C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday: Any showers clear early Sunday then dry with sunny spells into Tuesday, milder from late Sunday. Following this, temperatures will probably return closer to average, perhaps warm in places, and there will likely be a fine and dry interlude where high pressure dominates.
