As tourists circle the world looking for the next thing to share, one trend is becoming even more popular: waterfalls photos.
And luckily, a British shower manufacturer decided to get to the bottom of it, collecting the most photographed and famous waterfalls on Instagram.collated the number of hashtags per waterfall on Instagram on September 10, 2019. While this may leave some posts out – as some users might not necessarily tag every waterfall they see or they might tag it in a non-Latin or Germanic alphabet – it does provide a snapshot of popular tourist attractions for travelers.
Looking at the numbers, Niagara Falls takes the lead, with over 3 million hashtags. The next entry is Argentina’s Iguazú Falls at 343,037 hashtags, showing that no matter what the methodology, Niagara Falls is definitely the most popular.
