No one asked for a Zoom Fly with a spike plate, but here we are.
It also has an unconventional lacing system, with neon rope laces attached to the corners of the shoe and more practical, traditional laces beneath. But the outsole is where the shoe announces its odd intentions and gets downright weird. Baby track spikes sprout from the bottom of the shoe, from a few outcroppings at the heel to a larger nest at the forefoot leading all the way up to the toe.
Does it look cool? Hard to say—the spikes actually remind me of one of those old cartoon illustrations of how a blackhead removal strip works. Given that this is probably a shoe more oriented toward sneakerheads than track athletes, the spikes are unlikely to be a big asset in a sprint race, but they might give you more traction in your day-to-day travels.
