A man who murdered a couple with a high-calibre rifle while dressed in a ninja outfit is set to be executed.
Gaskin was convicted of murder for the deaths of Robert and Georgette Sturmfels after breaking into their Flagler County vacation home.
He then stole a clock, two lamps and a videocassette recorder from the Flagler County home. All of the stolen items were later found in Gaskin’s home. Investigators say he intended to give to them to his girlfriend as Christmas gifts. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed Gaskin’s death warrant on March 13. He is expected to become the second person executed in Florida after the state briefly paused executions in 2019.Gaskin argued that his constitutional rights were violated because he was sentenced to death without the unanimous support from the jury.
