The man who was killed was armed with two guns during the January break-in, one of which was stolen the night before, Lancaster County investigators said.

Hector Burgos-Torres, 35, was shot and killed around 4 a.m. Jan. 8 during a break-in at the Lincoln West Apartments on the first block of Lincoln West Drive in Mountville, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office.

Burgos-Torres held a woman inside the apartment at gunpoint as well, according to the district attorney’s office. Prosecutors said Burgos-Torres was armed with two guns at the time, and one of them was stolen from East Hempfield Township the night before the break-in. Burgos-Torres died of multiple gunshot wounds to the body, the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office said. His death was ruled a homicide.
