The 'data incident' took place last month
An email was sent out to customers this morning about the incident involving personal information held by the VF Group, of which The North Face is a part of.
An investigation found that some personal information had been "affected" during the incident, such as customer email addresses, full names, phone numbers, billing addresses and shipping addresses. "The information we hold is only what payment method was used for the purchases , with no additional details attached.
However, the company added it could not rule out that the incident had resulted in attempted fraud attacks on customers. It said: “At the moment, we have no evidence suggesting any actual impact on any individual consumer whose personal data were part of the affected data set.
