Two women claimed they were approached by a man asking for directions
A 20-year-old has been arrested after two women claimed they were approached by a man asking for directions in Northamptonand were then shown an indecent image instead. The first incident took place last Monday, January 16, when a woman in her 20s was approached by a driver in a blue Mercedes on Hester Street, Semilong.
A second alleged victim came forward following the police appeal. She claims a driver showed her an indecent image in Hampton Street, Northampton, shortly after midday on Tuesday, January 17. The Northampton man was then arrested on Thursday evening January 19 on suspicion of public order offences, as well as taking a car without a consent, driving with no insurance and without a licence.
Northampton Neighbourhood Policing officer, PC Sean Whelan, who is leading the investigation, is still appealing for anyone who may have been approached in a similar manner to come forward. He said: “Although a man has been arrested in connection with this incident, we would still encourage anyone who may have been approached in a similar manner, and has not yet reported it to us, to please do so.
