The best thing students can do to be prepared for the jobs of the future is to be grounded in “humanics,” which is the curriculum for a “Robot-Proof” education. Humanics prepares students to perform the future jobs that only human beings can do. It achieves this by fostering purposeful integration of technical literacies, such as coding and data literacy, with human literacies, such as creativity, ethics, cultural agility, and entrepreneurship.
This means recognizing that learning happens beyond the classroom, through co-ops and meaningful internships. These experiences impart independence, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and deepen understanding from “what” into “why.”
