The change means customers can buy tickets for cheaper and further in advance
Northern has announced rail tickets will be slashed by up to 65%. People travelling using its trains will be able to book their tickets up to 12 weeks in advance for the first time in more than four years. The company confirmed its cheapest tickets will be available for customers who book 12 weeks in advance. It's now extending the window for people booking Advance Purchase tickets after demands from customers who want to plan journeys further in advance.
' The move from Northern to reinstate the 12-week booking window for Advance Purchase fares has come as part of an industry-wide move to provide increased certainty to customers allowing them to plan trips further in advance. Northern is the second largest train provider in the country, with 2,500 services a day to more than 500 stations across the north of England.
