Ingrid Halland, an associate professor at Norway's University of Bergen, is leading the discussion on whether titanium white paint helped Norway 'make the world whiter.'

The Research Council of Norway, a government agency, is funding the study with 12 million NOK explored by University of Bergen associate professor and historian Ingrid Halland through a grant that explores the paint color's historical legacy, its origins in Norway, and features images of several of the nation's building plastered in the color.
