Brohm got his head coaching start at Western Kentucky, where he led the Hilltoppers to a 30-10 record in three seasons. Brohm left for Purdue following the 2016 season, and he went 36-34 in six seasons in West Lafayette. Brohm inherited a team that went 9-33 in the four seasons prior to his arrival, and the Boilermakers never won more than three games. Brohm led Purdue to a bowl game in each of his first two seasons, and the Boilers went 17-9 in his final two seasons. His biggest win at Purdue came in 2018 when the Boilers beat then 2nd-ranked Ohio State by a 49-20 score.
