BREAKING: A suspect in the triple knife attack in Nottingham has been identified as an ex-student at the university where two of his victims were enrolled in.
‘The suspect is a former University of Nottingham student but this is not believed to be connected with the attack.
‘He then made his way by foot to a supported living complex in Mapperley Road but was denied entry. This was not reported to police at the time.‘He then attempted to run over a man in the Milton Street area, who remains in a serious condition in hospital. ‘He then tried to run over two other pedestrians in the Sherwood Street area who are believed to have suffered minor injuries.’
The force have referred this further incident to the Independent Office for Police Conduct police watchdog as a marked police car had been following the van for a short while before it crashed. Police then tasered and arrested the man on suspicion of murder when the vehicle was eventually stopped.
