Drivers in Nottingham are being advised to plan their journeys carefully due to overnight road closures and diversions as work progresses on transforming the 'outdated' Maid Marian Way roundabout.
Nottingham drivers have been warned over a raft of changes to an 'outdated' city junction that is being transformed. Nottingham City Council has been replacing the layout of the Maid Marian Way roundabout with a traffic light-controlled T-junction that will feature new pedestrian crossings and improved cycle facilities.
Night works are taking place between 10pm – 6am from Monday, September 23, to Thursday, September 26. During this time drivers will be unable to approach from Upper Parliament Street and turn right onto Derby Road, with a diversion taking motorists via Maid Marian Way and Peveril Drive.The second phase of the works will be in place on Monday, September 30, from 10pm - 6am and will mean that drivers are unable to approach from Tollhouse Hill and go straight onto Maid Marian Way.
Drivers will be unable to approach from Tollhouse Hill and go straight onto Maid Marian Way between 10pm - 6am on Wednesday, October 2, as part of the fourth stage of works. There will be a diversion via Upper Parliament Street, looping around via Shakespeare Street, North Church Street and Burton Street to return to Upper Parliament Street and turn left onto Maid Marian Way.
