Nottingham Forest must make £20million of profit from player sales before the end of the month to avoid a points deduction.that Forest needed to raise £65million over the 2023-24 season.
Forest are understood to be at risk of breaching the Profit and Sustainability Rules for a consecutive season after facing a four-point deduction last season.They face having to sell players before the deadline of June 30th to ensure their 2023-24 accounts do not breach the allowed losses of £105million.
Borson explained that Forest needed to raise £65million in total but the sale of Brennan Johnson last summer has reduced that figure to around £20million.Based on my calculations I had Nottingham Forest needing £60-£65million of player trading profit over the seasonClearly they did a big chunk of that on day one with the sale of Brennan Johnson for £47.5million.So £20million might be the right number but it is definitely profit they need rather than just sales.
