Jodi Jones was nominated for the award alongside Elliott Lee of Wrexham and Davis Keillor-Dunn of Mansfield Town for his stellar performances for the Magpies this term
Notts County winger Jodi Jones was named Sky Bet League Two Player of the Season following a record-breaking year with the Magpies. The 26-year-old was nominated for the award alongside Elliott Lee of Wrexham and Davis Keillor-Dunn of Mansfield Town for his stellar performances for the Magpies this term.
He was also named in the Team of the Season for League Two alongside County teammate Macaulay Langstaff, who is on course to finish with the golden boot for the fourth tier in his first season in the EFL. Jones joined originally on loan from Oxford United midway through the previous season, helping Notts achieve promotion from the National League via the play-offs under previous boss Luke Williams.
Being recognised as the best player in the division this term despite the indifferent form of the team is a great recognition of his ability to be able to sustain his performance level even through the tough periods. The changes he has had to make to his game to fit into a wing-back role at Notts rather than an out-and-out winger have not affected his ability to affect the game higher up the pitch, and the confidence that has been reinstalled in him over the last 18 months has helped.
