A now-former Sandy Fire Department captain is being held without bail after investigators say the 45-year-old filmed children undressing with hidden cameras, according to court records.

On Jan. 10, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a tip from a social media company about an account that uploaded and distributed suspected child pornography, according to an affidavit of probable cause for the arrest. An IP address was forwarded to the Utah Attorney General’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the affidavit states.
A judge issued an order Friday that McKee be held without jail because he “would constitute a substantial danger to any other individual or to the community, or is likely to flee the jurisdiction of the court” if he was released, court records show. City officials “were deeply troubled to learn” that McKee “was the subject of an open criminal investigation,” and he “was immediately placed on administrate leave pending an administrative investigation into the allegation of criminal conduct,” according to the post.
