GAME STORY | Nuggets fumble chance at clinching No. 1 seed, fall flat against lowly Rockets
HOUSTON — Nikola Jokic wandered over to his chair on the visiting bench and tossed his towel down in frustration.
With a chance to clinch the first No. 1 seed in their NBA history, the Nuggets fell flat on their face. The magic number remained at one, with another chance to seal it Thursday in Phoenix. A loss by the Grizzlies on Wednesday would do it, too, but that wouldn’t be nearly as satisfying as the chance squandered Tuesday night.
Jalen Green poured in 32 points to lead Houston’s upset. The Nuggets fell to 52-27 with just three games left in the regular season.
