The 2020 edition of the New York Film Festival will open with the world premiere of Steve McQueen's 'Lovers Rock,' it was announced today
anthology of five original films, which will premiere on BBC One later this year and on Amazon Prime Video in the U.S. The films each tell a different story involving London's West Indian community, from the late 1960s to mid-1980s.
As the coronavirus pandemic continues to affect the fall festival season, the NY Film Festival said Monday that it will focus on outdoor and virtual screenings, with indoor screenings as possible as directed by state and health officials. The festival will screen films at the Queens Drive-In at Flushing Meadows Corona Park and the Brooklyn Drive-In at the Brooklyn Army Terminal.
